The Grace of ChristAuthor: William S. Plumer

This book is an impressive systematic theology written in a warm devotional style, aiming at introducing believers to the fundamentals of the faith. Every of the 48 chapters includes an introduction of the topic and its biblical support. But then the author is providing very valuable quotes from early church authors, Reformed theologians and ministers, and from a large number of confessions of faith. This way Plumer demonstrates that his doctrinal statements are not only strongly supported by the Scripture, but that they are the conventional doctrinal position of the church all through its history. This book has been originally published in 1853. About the author: William Swan Plumer (1802–1880) was an American elder, preacher, theologian, and author renowned in the Presbyterian Church. Plumer wrote over 30 books, including commentaries on Romans, Hebrews, and Psalms, as well as numerous tracts and pamphlets. He became a professor at Western Theological Seminary and Columbia Theological Seminary. Plumer died on October 22, 1880.
